When we lived in Japan, I was an avid sumo fan. One of the “big” sumo wrestlers in the 1980s, Asashio, was an alum of the university where Mike taught (Kinki University–no joke!), and one evening we were invited to a large gathering honoring Asashio. Several other sumo wrestlers attended, including the heaviest sumo wrestler ever, Konishiki. Below is a photo of Mike, me, and our friend Tom, posing with the massive wrestler.

Imagine my delight when I discovered that Akebono, another famous (retired) sumo wrestler has made some advertisements publicizing one of my new favorite TV shows (“Glee”) in Japan. I LOVE these!!
