Then We Came to the End by Joshua Ferris
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
I got to about page 125 in this book and decided to give up. It wasn’t horrible…but I just couldn’t get into it. Part of the problem is that it’s written in first person plural…and it’s very difficult to really relate to the characters. It’s basically about a dysfunctional company falling apart and laying people off. Interesting that it was published in 2007–the author must have been clairvoyant about the coming recession.
I wanted to like this book, because the idea seemed clever…but I must not have been in the right mood, or something.
