A few days before we left Sydney, we went to the Taronga Zoo with our nephew/chauffeur Alex. The last thing I wanted to do in Australia was see some Australian animals. The Taronga Zoo is one of the best views I’ve ever visited, and certainly the most scenic!!

To say I am now obsessed with koalas is an understatement. Mike had to drag me away.

Backdrop of the Sydney Harbor!

But first, the other animals! I loved how close we could get to the animals.

Meerkats
Timon! 😂
Kookaburras waiting for the bird show

We were entertained at the bird show with some skywriting! Unfortunately it had to be cut short because the buzzard wouldn’t come back to the trainer…and they couldn’t introduce any other birds.

Turkey vulture
Nicobar pigeon
Pygmy hippos
Plegadis
All the penguins in the world
Australian Seals—like a cross between a seal and sea lion
Pelican

They had an incredible reptile and amphibian exhibit!!

Iguanas
Wallaby
Tasmanian devil
Alligator snapping turtle
Tasmanian devil
Brush-tailed wallaby
Southern Cassowary
Dingo
Kangaroo
Short-beaked echidna
Emu
Kangaroos
Lazy kangaroos!!
Swamp wallaby
Tree kangaroo

And now for the extravaganza of koalas, cutest animal in the world!! Videos at the end.

Sadly, the vast majority of koalas now have clamydia and it’s causing them lots of problems.

Such a fun day!! And it was an unforgettable koala experience!
